VSO isn’t just about volunteering overseas! We’re also about helping individuals and communities to make a difference right here in the UK. And we want you to join us.

Below you’ll find a wide range of exciting ways to get involved with VSO. We’re sure there’ll be one that’s right for you.

Campaigns

Help build a fairer world
The lives of the world’s most disadvantaged people may depend on our own government’s policies towards the developing world, the actions of our companies or the products we choose to buy. Find out about the small steps you can take to make a big difference.

Challenges

Dig out your hiking boots...
...or your running shoes! Climb Kilimanjaro, stride up Snowden or sprint past St Paul’s. Whichever event you choose, you’ll be working up a sweat on behalf of some of the world’s poorest people. Find out more about our wide range of challenge events.

Want to support VSO and meet new people at the same time? By joining your local Supporter Group, you can campaign, fundraise and link with serving volunteers, all with a sociable mix of like-minded people. Find out about your nearest Supporter Group.

Our new online community is a great way to share knowledge and network with other VSO supporters. Sign up today and you can contact old friends and new, write your own blog and join discussion groups (or set up your own!)

Volunteer Linking

Get closer to our volunteers
Volunteer Linking gives you the chance to experience close up the day-to-day work of our volunteers around the world. Receive stories, photos and videos from your volunteer while they’re overseas, and meet them when they come home.

The skill sharing continues...
Your VSO experience doesn’t have to start and end with your time overseas! You’ve got valuable skills to share in the UK, too. Express an interest in supporting local Diaspora and refugee organisations.
